What do women think about men wearing earrings

What do women think about men wearing earrings

What do women think about the guys who like wearing earrings? Like everything else it's a matter of taste (or tolerance?). The reviews are very diverse, they are of all kinds. The reviews depend on culture, education and the environment of course.

Women's opinion on men who wear earrings can vary. Some women may find it attractive and stylish, while others may find it off-putting. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and it's impossible to say what the majority opinion is. Some women may appreciate a man's creativity when it comes to fashion and enjoy seeing him express himself through his clothing and accessories. Other women may find it too feminine and prefer men to stick to more traditional styles

Add a Stylish Touch to Your Look with Men's Earrings

Here are some of the reviews:

-"I did not think about it. This is the matter of a man's taste and I don't care"
- "Personally I hate it, I do not like men with any jewelry, except of a wedding ring, but this is also not necessary.."
- "I think it's sexy, but still cannot get used to men with two earrings ..."
- "I'm not a fan of Harrison Ford and the style. I don't like it at all."
- "If this suits a guy, that looks cool"

If you are a guy who wears earrings, and this is a part of your style, be ready to meet different points of view. If a girl has no prejudice, she will evaluate the earrings as a part of your image. But when speaking about conservative-minded ladies, your earrings can scare or disgust.

Celebrities wearing earrings

Pro

There are many reasons why women find men with earrings attractive. One of the main reasons is that the earrings help men look confident. Some women believe that a man who wears an earring feels confident in his masculinity (because he has other ways to prove it than just a rejection of the jewelry).
Some women find that it's a sign of a visible sensitive side of men, and this causes their sympathy.

Cool Men's Earrings

There are others who believe the same earring to be an attribute of "bad guys", and it leads to passion. Many women think that men's earrings are a symbol of courage and confidence. Anyway most of the women accepting the men's accessory agree that two earrings with diamonds - it is too much. On their point of view the best option is one earring with a small or big diamond or two black / silver earrings of a small size. Large studs in minimalist style are in favor as well. A different popular style today - tunnels, a pretty radical form of jewelry. An earlobe is stretched with a traditional African method. Typically such earrings can be seen worn by the guys who love hard rock, metal and tattoos.

Contra

Women who can not tolerate men with earrings also point to several reasons. Some women are against male earrings because of the religious reasons. There are women who believe earrings to be women's jewelry only, and therefore insist that men with earrings look effeminate. Some associate earrings with homosexuals and weakness. Although men's earrings are not associated with homosexuals anymore.

Make a Bold Statement with Mens Earring

Like any other man you like to be attractive for women. And there always will be those who like men's earrings, and those who do not like them. But you only decide whether to wear earrings or not, regardless of the views. It's your style, man

To me… men that wear earrings isn’t masculine. I prefer a manly man! Also I prefer a man with hair on his head! I realize some are naturally bald and can’t help that but shaving your head is different. Along with shaving and leaving a patch of hair that looks like a toupee! Grow up and be a leader not a follower..,

I’m a married heterosexual dude in my late 50’s. I’ve always wanted to get my ear pierced but never had the nerve to do it.
A few years ago, I spent a weekend with my 5 closest college friends & to my surprise two of them arrived sporting newly pierced ears. I came home realizing I wanted to get my ear pierced.
I told my wife I wanted to pierce my ear &. to my surprise & delight, we finally decided my left ear was going to be pierced.

I’m a bi male in my early 60’s, ever since I was a teenager I have always wanted to get my ear(s) pierced and grow my hair out. But I was worried about my family and friend making comments behind my back as though there was something wrong with me. However this year I couldnt give a S**t what they think and got my ears pierced and I have a small selection of studs, hoops etc and love changing then weekly. I’m going to get a second peircing in each ear and a helix peircing soon. My life for me not what otherz think.

I am a heterosexual woman and I personally would never date a man who wears earrings, clear nail polish, pinkie or thumb rings, and carries a “mans” purse because they are all girlie in my opinion. They are all a complete turnoff for me. I prefer a manly man who smells good and is polished. Men don’t need anything extra, just keep it simple. Don’t follow celebrities.

I think that it depends on the woman or yang girl and the context. Some women or yang ladies may think that it is attractive-glamor and stylish to see a man wearing dangle earring, while others may find it off-putting. In general, it seems that women are becoming more open to seeing men wear earrings, particularly if it is a small dangle earring or simple stud. Ultimately, it is up to the individual to decide how they feel about it.

It’s has been over three years since my then pre-teen son & finally took the plunge & got both of our ear’s pierced.Q

I’m still working from home & am able to always wear my silver hoop earring in each ear. My wife finally loves I’m able to finally wear it.

Three years later, my son has now completely morphed into someone else. Thanks to he friends, he has now has an earring in both ears & he only wears solid t-shirts & checkered Vans (I think he now has at 7 pairs of checkered Vans).

I must confess..after he leaves I will go into his closet & find a pair for myself. Never too young to wear those kicks

As for me, I’m still able to work from home & still sporting a silver hoop in each ear. Now my teenage son & I are the same shoe size, I’m recapturing my youth & wearing his checkered Vans

When I was 11 or 12 years old I asked my parents if I could have my ears pierced. I was told clearly it was only for “gays & girls” and I would not be getting them pierced under any circumstances.

I desire to have pierced ears never went away, when I was 46 I had my left ear pierced and wore a small black stud, a few people made the odd disparaging comment but most were totally accepting and many said they really liked it. I’ve recently had my right ear pierced as well and again had several compliments.

I wish I had ignored that narrow minded advice all those years ago, wearing earrings makes me feel happy and confident, every time I see them in the mirror they make me smile, my wife really likes them too. If you’re thinking about having your ears pierced – go for it, do what makes you happy and don’t be driven by so called social norms or stereotypes. Once they have healed you can take the studs out and no one will even know.

Men’s earrings worn by tradition:

Earlier and even today, a (golden) earring is traditionally worn by sailors and men when they have bypassed or crossed Cape Horn.
In Switzerland (Appenzeller country) there belongs to the traditional Appenzeller men’s costume a golden earring with a kl. Schuefle-Trowel worn by the men in the right ear.
On the East Frisian North Sea coast (eg island Norderney) many men from the tradition still wear golden sailors’ earrings.
Also on Urk (Netherlands) which belongs there to the Dutch Bible Belt – sailor’s earrings are also widely used by (Christian) men.
In Germany belongs to the divide – the traditional guild clothing / costume of a journeyman, an earring that is worn on the left ear during the years of travel (Walz).
The Cossacks in Russia used to have a man’s earring to mark the man in a family. According to this Cossack custom, the earring was worn in the left ear of the last son and in the right of the last man in the family. Two earrings in both ears said that he was the only child in the family. According to the way in which the earring was worn, the commander decided who he would send in the fight.

Being a husband, father, adventurer, seeker-of-knowledge, and business owner are what drive me, not the opinions of others on trivial matters such as titanium in my ears. My wife and I allowed our 11yo son to get his ears pierced at his request. He likes to express his individuality and has had to learn to handle negative feedback from some of his peers. It has been a great life lesson on differing opinions. I had an old single-ear piercing not used in many years and got the itch to complete the set. My wife cheered me on, so I got it done and I’m loving the decision. If I tire of earrings, I’ll pull them out and still be the exact same person. I understand how appearance can affect attraction. That’s normal, but if a man having piercings triggers you to make strong negative assumptions about his character, maybe a little self-reflection on how you measure your fellow humans is in order.

I got my left ear pierced age 15 in 1985 and have worn an earring in it ever since. At 18 l got a 2nd piercing in my left ear and age 27 l got my right ear pierced.
2 years ago l took the second earring out of my left ear and mainly wear a 3mm gold cz stud in each ear at the grand old age of 51. I am blessed to look a lot younger than l am and have never regretted getting my ears pierced. I am 100% hetrosexual and masculine in what l wear clothes wise.
Finally if you are a guy whose thinking of piercing his ears (or ear) then all l can say is go for it.

I had my left ear done at the age of 55 when I exited the coat and tie world. I made up a story about losing a bet in a poker game as I did not what to admit that I wanted to have it done. I wore a small gold hoop for about 12 years and then switched to a small larger gauge silver hoop for a more heavier look. About 3 years later I quit wearing an earring as I thought only one looked unbalanced but I did not have the confidence to get my right ear pierced. I put a stud in once a month to keep the hole open. Five years later after major cancer surgery and turning 75 I was in a tattoo shop looking at jewelry again and told the piercer that I was thinking about having my right ear done too. He asked if it was something I wanted today and I just said yes!. Had my right ear pierced and the left one opened . I was elated! I think everyone i knew was so accustomed to one that they did not even notice a second. I am much happier with the look and I feel balanced. I also feel much more confident that I finally have a small stud in both ears.
I always did think one ear was stupid as people have two ears.

The Bible verse quote is not true and that is also why the Bible says let your women be silent in the churches. “The woman should wear nothing, which pertains, to the man. And the man should not put on a woman’s garment” is the verse.

I’m in my mid 50’s & a happily married guy. It’s now been over two years since (with my awesome wife’s blessing) I finally pierced both my ears. Since my initial piercing, I’ve been wearing a silver hoop earring in both ears.
Last year, our normally shy preteen son asked if he could get his ear pierced. We discussed & agreed to let him do it. Now father & son are sporting jewelry in both our ears.

I always heard that sailors got a gold earring when they crossed the equator in the old sailing ships. I watched old movies & really liked a Baroque Pearl on a thin gold hoop in a guy’s left ear. I’m a 68 year old straight woman. I still like pierced ears on guys.
I really enjoyed this article. If you look at old paintings & archaeological sites ,there are just as many men in earrings as women. I don’t get the Fuss at all.

I’ve been reading these as I have my left ear pierced, and wear a dangly earring frequently. Look, bottom line is that it is 2021, and if people look at an earring, which has been worn by both genders for millennium, as gay or girly, don’t pay attention to it. I’m as straight as you can be, and strive to be what you would call the masculine man. Nothing feminine about earrings (to a degree). Go for it bro, screw what people think. Make it your look.

Nuts. I’m 60, and have been wearing earrings in both ears for 20 years now, mostly dangles, some of them pretty outrageous. My wife buys me earrings from time to time. I immediately think any man is gay who wears earrings 🤮🤮! They are feminine and for women. The Bible makes clear women should not wear men’s things and men should not wear women’s items. Also, that’s common sense. Deuteronomy 22:5. I think it’s so gross and just disgusting when men wear any form of jewelry except for his wedding band.

Sorry guys but earrings on a man are NOT attractive. It makes you look feminine and nobody wants to sleep with a feminine man. I don’t know where all this metrosexual man thing started being trendy but it does not help you build sexual attraction. Obviously you do you and if a women loves you she will still probably deal with it but if you want a woman’s honest opinion then here it is.

I am new to ear rings. I have my ear pierced in July. My wife said I was suffering from mid life crisis for having my ear pierced. I have lost a female friend of over 20 years because of it. Her perception also is from a Christian perspective of men shouldn’t wear what female wear but I pointed how wrong it was as men even in bible times wore ear rings, nose rings and all broaches and all sorts of jewellery. I told her she couldn’t condemn men wearing ear rings based on the bible and if its cultural, many or even most cultures support men wearing all form of rings including ear rings. Her point is its irresponsible for a man to wear ear rings. I asked her if she now sees me as irresponsible and she said yes. Since then she’s stopped talking with me.

As for me, I am just going to do what is good for me and what my conscience deems good. Its my life after all. My kids are even cool with it.

Who cares about what other people think ? You only live once in the physical realm, so be who you are. If your friends think you look “gay”, are they true friends ? If a woman hates that you wear an earring of two, would you really want to be with such a judgemental woman anyway ? Live life on your terms and not the terms of others.

Personally I think it is too much of a feminine look for me on a man and I don’t want to wake up in the morning next to someone who resembles a female or have another person possibly scrambling in my earring box because he’s trying to find a pair to wear, my thinking is if he’s looking for my earrings what else of mines will he be trying to wear next I think a natural man that is confident without any added accessories to his package is still in and there’s just something about a man that can be himself without all the added bling. My son wears earrings but I have to love him still that is my son and the most important thing is the character of a person, but in relationships unless you are just a friend only then earrings are not acceptable no matter how cute or successful.

This was an informative post. I had a discussion with a friend and we disagreed wildly regarding why men pierce their ears. He said to express their feminine side. I said it was to flaunt their success and confidence (macho), with an avant garde, in-your-face style. We also said that black men of wealth (like NFL and NBA players) want to flaunt their status with big diamond earrings. This post revealed the diversity of reasons from men of various ages, lifestyles, etc. Thank you.

I got my left ear pierced when I was about 30 years old. I did it when I was at a biker swap. I always wanted to do it, but I was afraid of the needle. I know that’s silly, but true. I was in the nightclub and music business for majority of my adult life & it’ fit my general image. But I also have a professional career.I was not sure how I would be viewed professionally. It didn’t hold me back. I don’t think anybody really cared. I’m 55 years old now, and still wear a sterling silver small loop on my left ear. Sometimes I take it out for extremely professional moments, but for the most part I keep it in. The women in my life like it, and the men in my life think it is cool. My kids have never seen me any other way. Just a personal thing. It’s a matter of personal preference. Try it. If you don’t like how it if it makes you look, and then take it out. The ear will heal up fine.

I also like to wear two silver hoop earrings. In each ear one.

I prefer big hoops, like women wear. The size of the hoops is about 3 inch. When the’re in my ears I feel great. Unfortunately I don’t dare to wear them often, like outside my house. That’s because everybody will think something wrong with me. But that’s not, I’m high educated and totally straight. And because nobody in my environment, men, even wear earrings, I even don’t dare to wear simple studs. Like silver or white-gold balls or half moon balls.

I hope I will ever get over my embarrassment and dare to wear my earrings. But I’m half 40 and can wear for some twenty years earrings (I pierced my ears half 20). So I don’t think it will ever happen.
